Why Learn Japanese

The U.S.-Japan relationship is becoming ever-more dynamic and important. Japan remains the second most powerful economy in the world, and continues to expand its cultural influence in the U.S. and throughout the world. In such an environment, the demand for non-native, highly competent Japanese language speakers in the professional, business and cultural community becomes ever greater.

Language House: Tailor Made Japanese Instruction

Language House provides specialized instruction and training to Japanese language learners from the Greater New York area at its Midtown location (545 Fifth Avenue). We offer private lessons and small group classes (no more than ten students), with a focus on enabling each language learner to advance his or her professional and/or personal goals. Instruction covers business, social and cultural topics, and can be tailored to the student's personal needs. Language House also continually develops new Japanese language instructional materials and learning aids.

About the Founder

Ms. Mayumi Nishida, the founder of Language House, has extensive experience in Japanese language education. In addition to developing unique curricula for classes in business and culture at the Japan Society, she has taught at universities and conducted special programs at the Japan Foundation and major U.S. and Japanese companies in the New York area.

Language House's Mission

Language House's mission is to serve you, the student and learner -- to work with you to create the instruction and materials that meet your needs and will enhance your language capabilities and deepen your understanding of Japan's culture and business.
